Egypt need to beat Algeria by 3 clear goals when they meet later this month to go to the World Cup finals. If they don't the Algerias are off to South Africa. Its a bit of a crunch match. Theres a bit of history between the two teams, last time they met in similar circumstances Algerians top player "glassed" the Egyptian team medic and he lost an eye whilst the rest of the algerians decided to throw pots into the VIP crowd (the lost). Each sides press has been winding up the masses, not to be helped by You Tube footage of some Algerians burning an Egyptian flag. Tensions are quite high and will be getting higher nearer match day.
So when at work one of the chaps asks if Id like to go as they are going to try and get tickets of course I said yes. We will need to get to the ground at least 4 hours before kick off and "we cannot guarentee your safety". Although I have been assured I do not look like an Algerian must say I'm a touch nervous - see whether we get the tickets next week. Still these guys have never been to English football in the 70s to early 80s.
Football is not a matter of life and death, its more important than that......
